The North American based team, United States FaZe Clan, known for its Call of Duty teams, and recently for its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, has announced that they have decided to leave the Germany ESL based organization, WESA.

The World Esports Association was create in order to regulate the competitive aspect of CS:GO, stating that the lack of such an organization will not allow teams and players to reach full potential.

The North American organization stated that the WESA itself was launched premature and that there is a lack of transparency in the organization itself, with this in mind, they have decided to withdraw even if they are one of the eight founding members.

Both parties went on to make statements, as United States FaZe had this to say:

"Building a league system with a governing body is interesting and maybe even what e-sports needs to take the next step forward. We believe in time and patience, aligning and unifying the entire scene is the key to bring the true vision to life - which from a conceptual point of view is impressive.

That is what we believe is the true key to success for initiatives such as WESA and e-sports in general. A sport where multiple publishers, leagues, organizations and players from all over the world needs to collectively challenge each other, improve and work together."

While guys behind WESA had this to say:

"Creating an association such as WESA from the ground up is an immense undertaking for all involved parties and something that requires enormous commitment of time and effort. While we regret the fact that FaZe has decided to take this step and are disappointed to see them go, we understand and accept their decision to put their current focus elsewhere."

WESA is now consisted of the following organizations: United States EnVyUs, Sweden Ninjas in Pyjamas, United Kingdom fnatic, Spain G2 eSports, Ukraine Natus Vincere, Russian Federation Virtus.Pro and Germany Mousesports.
